Barron Trump: Momma's boy or future conqueror?
Donald Trump's son just turned 18, what does the future hold for him?
I have never liked how the minor children of presidents are sometimes attacked by the president’s political opponents. I never agreed with it, whether it was Bush’s daughters, Chelsea Clinton, Obama’s daughters, or anybody else. Leave the kids alone; they have no control over their father’s politics or policies.
So I’ve held off writing about Barron Trump, but now he is 18 and a young man. Moreover, he seems to present an interesting contrast with his father:
While some – Melania included – claimed to see a strong resemblance between Donald and Barron, nicknamed 'Little Donald', when he was a baby, others now insist that in one crucial respect he's very different.
'I cannot stress enough how kind and polite Barron is… he's just a great kid,' Stephanie Grisham, former White House Press Secretary and Melania's one-time chief-of-staff told DailyMail.com.
Grisham added that she saw a 'definite difference' between Barron and his much older half-siblings – who include Ivanka, Donald Jr, Eric and Tiffany.
'Just very, very kind and humble and empathetic and smart,' Grisham said. 'Not that I'm saying his half-siblings aren't smart at all.'
'Barron is shy and reserved, and she has been a good mother to him all of these years,' a source said.
Say what you will about Donald Trump, but nobody ever called him “shy and reserved” and certainly not “humble,” which makes me wonder if Barron Trump will be a very different man than his father. From what I read in the DM article above, Barron does not seem to possess the titanic ego of his father. It’s still early, however, so it’s possible that it might come out later as he matures. He has his father’s genes, after all.
It seems clear from the article that it was Melania who truly raised Barron Trump, and his personality seems to reflect her influence rather than the personality of his father. However, genetics from both parents matter, and so I will ask this question:
Will Barron Trump ultimately turn out to be a momma’s boy type of guy, or is he a future conqueror that will exceed his father’s political achievements?
Remember that Barron Trump has had to watch his father be attacked viciously, on a level that few politicians are ever attacked. Donald Trump has also been persecuted with relentless lawfare, and all of that must have had some effect on Barron Trump. Even with Melania trying to shield him from the hate, there’s no way Barron Trump could be unaware of all of it.
I wonder what he thinks about all of it? Having had to watch his father be attacked so often and so viciously? I suppose his reaction to it is likely related to his relationship with his father, and it is impossible for us to really understand such a thing as we are not privy to their interactions.
I will speculate here, though: Given Donald Trump’s personality and narcissistic tendencies, I doubt he has played much of a role in raising Barron. That could mean that the two are not as close as some other fathers and sons. Nor do I see Trump being able to spend much time with his son, given his political career and all the drama and lawfare associated with it.
One possible outcome of watching his father be attacked so viciously might be that Barron Trump decides to never go into politics at all. Who can blame him if he makes that choice? I sure would not do so, given what has happened to his father. It might be the smartest thing in the world for Barron Trump to lead a quiet life, far away from the sewer of the imperial capital. What does he have to gain by following his father into politics?
Also, he’s only 18, and nobody knows what his politics are, or if he is even interested in politics. After all, there are pretty girls to pursue, sports, and other activities that 18-year-olds find much more appealing than the tedium of politics.
On the other hand, seeing his father vilified and persecuted, might have planted a seed of rage inside of Barron Trump. It is possible that that seed might grow quietly in his heart for years until it bursts into flame and propels him into a political career that might match or exceed that of his father. Woe unto his father’s enemies, then, if the son should seek vengeance someday!
Here’s a funny image
sent me in a DM:It is still far too early to know which way Barron Trump will go. He has a significant number of years of living ahead of him before settling on a career choice, but it will be interesting to see what he does when he is out of school and begins working at some occupation. He won’t need the money, of course, but I doubt Melania will allow him to be one of the idle rich who achieves nothing and lives off his daddy’s money.
One last thing about Barron Trump that amused me from the Daily Mail article:
As for his relationship with Donald, White House chronicler Michael Wolff controversially claimed in 2019 that Trump resented his son for becoming taller than him, adding: 'His son is effectively not at all a part of his life.'
I don’t know if the last part is true, but I can totally believe that Donald Trump was irritated with his son for being taller than he. Donald is about 6'3, but Barron is 6'7, and we all know how Donald hates playing second banana to anybody else, even his own son.
Look at Tiny Donald standing next to his son. 😂

Donald is a masculine given name derived from the Gaelic name Dòmhnall. This comes from the Proto-Celtic *Dumno-ualos ("world-ruler" or "world-wielder").
Trump is shortened from trumpeter who used to herald kings.
Donald Trump is the herald of the world ruler. That would ruler is Barron.
Men who follow in their father’s footsteps in public roles in culture and politics rarely reach the levels of success of their fathers and often struggle with crippling impostor syndrome their entire lives. Personally, seen it hundreds of times.
Unless they commit to a similar but different path very early.
