Good evening frens, Due to time constraints, I need to make some changes to the content I’ve been writing here on Substack. I’ve dispensed with the Fun Threads and the Goody Bag. I am going to go back to writing 2–3 articles maximum per week. One or two will be free, and one will be for paid subscribers.
If you've to drop something then I guess the fun/entertainment stuff must go. I subscribe for your take on US politics and its consequent effects on geopolitics and thus that content should take priority IMHO.
For what it's worth, your description of Trump as the "Fat Orange Retard" has never proved more apt than in the last week, as it's now becoming clear that the Ukraine/Israel/Taiwan bill would not have passed without his support (a bit of advice President Trump, if Lindsay Graham thanks you then you're on the wrong side of that particular argument). So, anyone thinking that electing the FOR in November is going to save you...dream on.
(By the way, in my main WhatsApp group I succeeded in substituting the acronym "FBC" for the name of our previous Prime Minister (Johnson), with F standing for Fat, B for Blonde and C...well I'm sure you can work that out.)
I meet a good number of folks and, so far, none expect miracles from Trump. The Left is completely unhinged and no longer an option. Perhaps the media distorts reality.
I have read you mostly for geopolitics and fact based articles and that is what I would most likely pay for. But at this time I gravitate toward the inspirational.
Being "over here" , and as much as I enjoy the US-slanted political stuff, I opted for geopolitics as perhaps the writer's gaze might wander a little further as justified (although obviously your readership is US-based, I guess). I know that's pretty tenuous and of course is caveated by the fact that what happens in your backyard inevitably and massively influences pretty much the whole Western world and beyond though! And I have to admit that this current US election run-up is way more interesting than whether Rishi Sunak is going to call a poll before or after the Summer holidays ! Just keep on keeping on. Your judgment seems to be pretty spot on re tone and content. Apropos of nothing, I was surprised that I had missed several of your pieces, as I wasn't getting your posts listed in my update feed at the top. No drama, I will just remember to look if I don't see any notifications for a few days !
I will also log out and back in again. That seems to do the trick. At least it seems to be the second favourite helpdesk suggestion after "Have you tried switching it all back off and back on again?" :)
Frankly, as one of your earliest and most consistent supporters, I like your take on most anything upon which you choose to comment. I will miss the fun stuff and hope you sneak some in sometimes, but the politics/geopolitics make unique use of your incisive writing style and perspective.
Thank you for the kind words. I shall not abandon the other stuff completely, but I will try to put the focus on politics and geopolitics. I appreciate your support and also your feedback. This article and thread have helped clarify things for me beautifully, I appreciate all of you sharing your thoughts. They have given me a star to steer my content by.
I voted for ‘News’ because it covers most of those subjects. But so far you’ve had a good eye for detail and your essays make great reading, so just go with what occupies your mind.
I agree with Freeq & Joseph. I like your writing, it reads smooth and not disjointed. Your commentary on either good or bad keeps me engaged. I suspect you have a lot going on upstairs and that’s good. I appreciate the polls and reaching out to your readers. You have a good Substack, keep it up.
A mixture of the four is always fun
Good morning Morgthorak from across the pond.

Ha, ha. Love that last line.
Yes, you are right about Trump and I need to do an article about it. It was a betrayal, but not a surprise at all.
There is a new article for paid subs going out tonight you might like. It will unlock in 48 hours for free subs.
No one expects Trump to save them, just that he is much preferable to the alternative.
Sorry Jason, missed your comment in the fog of the last few days.
I'm sure you (and most of Morgthorak's readers) don't expect Trump to "save them" but millions of his supporters do.
Having said that, if I was an American, I would almost certainly walk into a voting booth in November, hold my nose and put an X against his name.
I meet a good number of folks and, so far, none expect miracles from Trump. The Left is completely unhinged and no longer an option. Perhaps the media distorts reality.
Cheers.

Thanks, RL. I appreciate the feedback. 👍🏻
Not sure why you didn't see my updates, but if you aren't getting stuff in your inbox in email or the app, check the front page of my substack:

Variety is the spice of life. Don't pigeon hole yourself on our account.

Thank you, Jeffrey. I appreciate it.
I'm snarky as hell, so I read everything you write and usually post snarky answers.
Write about what interests you at the time.
It's called the Tomb, not the grove. :)
Ha ha, good point about the name! 😂
Whatever strikes your fancy. I know…not helpful. But if it lifts you or pisses you off enough to write about it, it’s gonna be good.
