Elon Musk plans to destroy LinkedIn
The owner of X has plans to put an end to LinkedIn's reign of woke communist drivel
If you’ve been reading my posts on Notes, you know that I have mixed feelings about Elon Musk and X. While I’m glad he bought it and drove out most of the woke communist scum that had infested it, I’m not about to pay him $8 per month for the privilege of having my posts gain visibility.
Will Musk destroy LinkedIn?
However, I caught his tweet about developing a competitor to LinkedIn, which brought joy to my soul. Here is the Tweet for you to savor:
So, it seems that Elon has plans to expand X’s feature set to include the market space that LinkedIn currently dominates. Good! The destruction of LinkedIn cannot come soon enough for me and, I suspect, millions of other people who utterly despise it.
WokedIn is one of the worst social media services ever
I should be more accurate here and use LinkedIn’s real name: WokedIn.
WokedIn is, without a doubt, the worst social media service on the Internet. Even the shallow attention whores on Instagram cannot compete with the sheer deluge of woke communist drivel that appears on WokedIn. It is neverending, and the entire service is set up to attempt to brainwash users into becoming good, little marxist drones who mindlessly repeat the regime’s woke communist dogma.
I remember when LinkedIn first launched, and it had a little value back then, but over the years, it has mutated into a wretched hive of bloviating woke commies, the likes of which have never been seen on the Internet. It is singularly bad in that respect; no other social media service vomits such mind-numbing communist virtue signaling on such an immense scale.
Do the world a favor and destroy LinkedIn, Elon
I live for the day when Elon Musk drives a stake through the heart of LinkedIn. I want to hear the screams of that hive of woke scum as they realize that a real competitor has arrived and that there’s nothing they can do to save themselves. Layoffs all around for the woke commies at WokedIn! Fire them all!
And it’s not just the ideological brainwashing that exists on WokedIn. The interface is terrible, old, and very outdated. The work experience section is from the early 90s, and the idiotic InMail is one of the stupidest communication systems ever created. Yet all of it lingers on; Microsoft has done nothing to improve WokedIn and has made it far worse than before the company bought it.
Don’t even get me started on what a spam magnet WokedIn is and how much of your time it can suck up with utterly irrelevant bullshit. It’s one of the most poorly designed and maintained social media services in history, and it’s only still around because nobody has bothered to make a real competitor to it.
LinkedIn is useless and it needs to be replaced
I have never gotten any work from WokedIn, and I despise that some companies expect you to have a profile. On their job application pages, they often have a mandatory WokedIn field. I just put the WokedIn URL there and don’t give it a second thought. Let them spend time trying to find me because I don’t have a WokedIn account, and I never will again.
I have not seen or heard anything about X going after WokedIn beyond Elon’s tweet, so I do not know what Musk’s timeline is or how high a priority it is for him. However, I hope and pray that he is deadly serious and that we will soon all wake up and find that the end of WokedIn has begun.
What a glorious day it will be for all of us when WokedIn becomes a digital corpse!

Sites like Indeed and LinkedIn have effected the already miserable job market of the 21st century like Tinder and fellow online hook-up apps nuked the already miserable dating market of the 21st century. But, at the very least, I've gotten jobs through LinkedIn before, and it doesn't force you to go through the humiliation ritual of reducing yourself to corporate-friendly buzzwords and mealy-mouthed lefty-lite doublespeak. It's almost nightmarish when you really think about it - combining the grinding stress, angst, and tedium of job searching with the banal, performative, self-exposure of Facebook. When I spell it out like that, it sounds like less of an "innovative site" and more like a human rights violation. I honestly don't trust Musk to make anything better, or an alternative that will ameliorate the rampant issues that LinkedIn spawned, but I do think it will be a net boon when it's gone, so I welcome whatever he's got planned.
I had a linkedin account back in the 2009-2012 year range, whilst desperately seeking both employment and the psychosocial validation of female interaction.
I don't believe I ever did more with it than add a few women's profiles as contacts.
I still got emails from linkedin as recently as two years ago about being "invited" this that thing by people I'd not seen in over a decade.
by the time I tried to sign in and remove the account it had already been done for me by good ol' Mr Computer. but that took a REALLY long time.
I think it's still supposed to hold some relevance to job hunting?
but just using a weird-ass-experience background (chatgpt refined) resume and a minimal profile on indeed and glassdoor found me a job paying $60/hr; over 4x my previous hourly record for over the table work.
under the table, charging 50℅ of shop mechanic labor rates made me over $200 an hour changing a power steering pump for a gaming buddy once. he got a good deal, I got a good deal, corporate shop made less profit for trying to charge too much... it's a win/win/Ha-ha situation.
who needs linkedin? especially if they're all woke now, ugh 🤮
