Neil Young: Fascist hippy
A pretentious, hippy bore crawls back to Spotify to grab a few more dollars, before he finally croaks
Pretentious fop and left-over relic from the 70s, Neil Young, left Spotify in a huff over what he called “disinformation” a while back. Joe Rogan was supposedly spreading the “disinformation” that put the stick up Young’s ancient ass.
Well, surprise, surprise! Neil Young recently returned to Spotify. Get a load of the bullshit reasons he spewed to try to justify crawling back to Spotify:
Now the 78-year-old rock icon, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, is coming back to Spotify. But he said it’s because Apple and Amazon have also become fonts of disinformation.
“Spotify, the #1 streamer of low res music in the world — Spotify, where you get less quality than we made, will now be home of my music again,” Young announced Tuesday in a post on his website.
Young continued, “My decision comes as music services Apple and Amazon have started serving the same disinformation podcast features I had opposed at SPOTIFY. I cannot just leave Apple and Amazon, like I did Spotify, because my music would have very little streaming outlet to music lovers at all, so I have returned to Spotify, in sincere hopes that Spotify sound quality will improve and people will be able to hear and feel all the music as we made it. Qobuz and Tidal, where my music is presented, are all High res as well.”
Young didn’t elaborate on what podcast “disinformation” Apple and Amazon are allegedly carrying. But that may be a reference to Rogan’s multiyear deal renewal with Spotify inked last month, under which “The Joe Rogan Experience” will no longer be exclusively available on Spotify. The podcast is now available on Apple Podcasts and YouTube and will be coming to Amazon Music, according to Spotify.
Ha, ha, ha!! Priceless! 😂 🙄
Let me be blunt: Disinformation on Apple, YouTube, etc. had nothing to do with his decision to go back to Spotify. It was the sweet streaming cash he lost when he left Spotify that got him to go back to it. That’s all there was to it: It came down to the money, and everybody knows it.
Young is one of the worst boomer rock stars in the world. I have more respect for Gene Simmons, who never hid the fact that he and Paul Stanley were always money-grubbing whores who would stop at nothing to make a buck. But Young has always tried to hide his greed with pretentious posturing and vacuous moral preening, and you see it clearly in this Spotify situation.
What is really sickening about boomer musicians like Young is that he once pretended to “rebel” against the system, and now he can’t suck on the system’s tit enough to satisfy his wanton greed. He’s 78 years old and still lusting for more money, as if he expects to take it to the grave with him.
Young’s attack on Rogan when he first left Spotify shows you what a nasty, fascist hippy he has become since the 1970s. Instead of attacking the system, Young fellates it at every opportunity. Rogan and others have been proven right about the not-vaccines, but idiots like Young still refuse to accept the fact that they were dead wrong about the shots.
I lump Young in with Arnold, Simmons, Stern, and the rest of the boomer idiots that allowed fear to control them, and who lashed out viciously against everyone they perceived to be a threat to their own physical safety during the fake pandemic. Young lost his shit while the COVID hysteria was raging, and now he’s crawling back to Spotify on his hands and knees to try to wring a few more dollars out of his shitty music.
Well, it won’t do him much good because Father Time will be calling soon enough, and then somebody else will be collecting that sweet, streaming cash and spending it because Young will be in the ground or sent to the fire.
Nobody gets out alive, Neil, and all your money won’t another minute buy.

I was surprised he was even allowed to remove "his" music from spotify for as long as he did given he sold 50% of the rights to his catalog to a financial firm called "hipgnosis" (largely owned by Blackstone) years ago for $150 million. That he was able to cut into their profits by removing his songs from spotify for the past couple years was interesting but I guess he still maintains enough control to do stupid shit like that.
Neil Young was always an asshole. He wrote some beautiful songs in his youth and has become a legend simply because he's lived so long. He hasn't written a great song in 50 years. Artists are mostly all selfish assholes. Don't ever confuse an artist with their art.
Pretentious Fops would be a great band name.
