The GAE whines about Navalny, but what about Gonzalo Lira and Julian Assange?
Plus: George Martin bashes Tolkien; President Bukele's succes story; What happened to cock rock?; Hitler's voice in English; Russia in 1471 and now; Putin discusses Tucker's tactics; and more!
Welcome to this week’s issue of Morgthorak’s Goody Bag. The goody bag is a smorgasbord of the content I’ve seen this week, and that I liked enough to share with you here. 😎
The GAE and its fake outrage about Navalny’s death
Navalny has died in a Russian prison, and the propaganda arm of the GAE is in full swing, trying to make him a martyr. There are stories everywhere about how he “bravely stood up to Putin” and how Putin blatantly assassinated him, etc.
It’s striking that you don’t hear GAE propagandists talking about Gonzalo Lira and Julian Assange. Nope, none of them have anything to say about those two.
A simple phone call would have saved Gonzalo’s life, but he was murdered in a Ukrainian prison by Zelensky’s regime, and no effort whatsoever was made by the GAE’s government to get him released and transported safely out of Ukraine.
And has anybody heard from Julian Assange lately? He’s still rotting in prison, likely being driven mad by inhumane isolation and torture.
What about the J6 prisoners still rotting in jail on bullshit charges? What about Ashley Babbitt? You don’t hear the GAE propagandists talking about them, either.
When the GAE acts in as sanctimonious a way as they have with Navalny, you know they are completely full of shit. They have no right to blame and condemn Putin when their own hands are covered in blood and death.
The Duran had some good commentary about Navalny:
The assassination of Gonzalo Lira and his memorial page
Speaking of Gonzalo Lira, earlier this week, I found that someone had set up a memorial page for Gonzalo Lira on the Find A Grave site. When I loaded the page, I saw that there was only one flower and condolence left. So I left one and began sharing the URL for others to drop by.
As I type this post, there are 14 flowers and condolences left for the Lira family, but I think we can do better as a community. If you have a moment, please go to the page and leave a flower and condolences. Gonzalo deserves it, as does his family.
I also caught an interview with Gonzalo’s father’s on Rumble. I cannot embed it here like a YouTube video, but if you click or tap the link, the video should start right at the segment with Gonzalo’s father.
My takeaway from the interview:
The US Embassy in Ukraine did nothing to help Gonzalo. No doubt at the behest of Victoria Nuland and the rest of the rotten neocons that control the US state department now.
The scumbag Ukrainians cremated Gonzalo’s body to hide any evidence of torture and medical deprivation. The Lira family cannot do an independent autopsy.
Gonzalo’s urn is still in Ukraine at the time of the interview, and his father adamantly does not want it touch US soil when it is delivered to Chile, and I do not blame him a bit for this. Screw the empire that turned its back on Gonzalo and allowed the Zelensky regime to murder him.
Gonzalo’s father believes he was assassinated by the Ukrainians for his critical comments about the war and the Zelensky regime.
The Ukrainians killed Gonzalo by deliberately inducing sickness through torture and abominable conditions inside their prisons, then withholding proper medical treatment.
I believe Gonzalo’s father on both counts.
Gonzalo’s father began to cry when Glenn Greenwald played Gonzalo’s last video. My heart goes out to him and the rest of the Lira family.
My undead curse is still in effect for the next 55 years (Gonzalo was 55 when they murdered him), and it will avenge Gonzalo. All who were involved in his assassination will pay for what they did, and what they dished out to Gonzalo will come back on them. Whoever they are, wherever they are, my curse will find them and exact vengeance for Gonzalo.
George Martin bashes Tolkien and Bros Krynn responds
George Martin has made some pretentious and stupid remarks concerning Tolkien, and Bros Krynn responded:
Okay, to be honest I didn’t actually want to write this article. The trouble is that Martin’s whiny comment about tax policies and Orc genocide are making the rounds over on twitter, I myself was asked to weigh in, and did so several times, so from now on when asked I’ll just refer people to this article and save myself some trouble and time.
Truth is, this lack of proper knowledge or willingness to go on offense in defence of Tolkien bugs me. Because not only did Tolkien FULLY lay out Aragorn’s tax policy, but he also made it clear what happened to the Orcs. What follows is what I posted on twtitter (with some minor changes).
What Martin proposed happened, was simply him wishing to subvert and deconstruct Aragorn, as he despises the character. Aragorn went looking for Orcs to negotiate with them according to Tolkien's notes and Appendices, and instead found a barren land.
I was aware of Martin’s attitude toward Tolkien a while ago, and I just rolled my eyes at his stupidity. Who is George Martin to say anything negative about Tolkien? Unlike Martin, Tolkien finished The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Meanwhile, Martin sits on his fat ass as the years go by, with no conclusion to his Game of Thrones books.
As far as Aragorn goes, why would Tolkien have wasted space in The Return of the King to delve deep into governance issues? It would have bored readers, and it would have been a distraction to the story. No reader would have cared or wanted to read such irrelevant twaddle.
Unlike Martin, Tolkien knew how to write a tight story. He knew what to leave in, and what to chop out. This is something that Martin never understood, and you see it as Game of Thrones goes on and morphs into a disorganized mess with too many characters and unnecessary crap strewn all over the pages.
If you understand the character of Aragorn as a man, then you know how he would rule Gondor. That was never in doubt for anyone who read Tolkien’s books, and it only existed in Martin’s petulant, post-modern, jealous mind. The fact that Martin even said it in the first place shows you how out to lunch he is these days.
I have read all the Game of Thrones books, and I liked the first three very much. But by the time book four came out, the series had already become bloated, slow, and tedious in parts. Book five (A Dance with Dragons) just dragged on forever, and readers were forced to hear about Daenerys’ diarrhea problems. I was glad to be done with that book, and I’ll never read it again.
I read Tolkien’s books at least once per year, however, and I shall do so for the rest of my life. The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit are that good, and tower far above the twaddle that George Martin started but will never finish. At this point, Martin has no credibility whatsoever to criticize or mock Tolkien.
Shut up and try to finish the “Winds of Winter” before you die, George. 🙄
President Nayib Bukele: The guy who turned El Salvador around
Oceanus has an excellent overview of El Salvador’s president, Nayib Bukele and his success story:
President Bukele, with his historic reelection, is now back in office for the next five years. During that time, he needs to develop contingency plans for whenever he leaves office in order to keep El Salvador safe. I have no doubt that there are politicians on gang payrolls who would gladly tear down the new social safety net that Bukele has developed. El Salvador has become a shining light of hope in a region darkened by crime. Either the light shines brighter or the darkness overtakes it. Bukele’s policies in El Salvador are a brilliant model for protecting innocent people everywhere. The blueprint is here, now we need the will.
Frankly, I wrote El Salvador off many years ago, as it has always been a train wreck, and I never expected it to get any better. But Bukele has done some amazing, unexpected, and frankly, astounding things to turn it all around.
As the article notes, however, it could all be undone by a corrupt president or other politicians who dismantle what Bukele has built. If that happens, it wouldn’t take long for El Salvador to degrade back into the gang-infested mess it was for so many years.
Say a prayer for Bukele, and hope that he can create conditions for El Salvador to remain safe and to thrive long after he leaves office as president.
Whatever happened to cock rock?
Raven takes a look at what happened when liberals lost touch with the spirit of rock and roll:
The peak of rock and roll was “cock rock,” in the early 1970s. Bands like Led Zepplin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Blue Oyster Cult and ZZ Top in their early days, rocked out hard, balls out rock and roll. Yes the male sexual imagery is intentional, this was not nerdy intellectual prog rock like Frank Zappa, or King Crimson from the same time period, this was sweaty, bare chested, primal and sexual music. It was urgent pre-verbal music that tapped into Dionysian pre-civilized impulses not easily controlled. It was in a strange way warrior music, like the beating of tribal drums before going off into battle. It was and still is music you feel in your gut, not in your head like Pink Floyd and psychedelic period Beatles. This was the start of head banging and losing your head in music.
This music was being made during a time period when the left had elements of a real revolution against the suits in the suites in the suites and “Vietnam maaaaaan! Obviously this terribly frightened the establishment, it was the bursting forth of the male ID, unchained from the demands of work, obedience to the state, the bourgeois family, etc. 1 This was the antithesis of the buttoned down sexually repressed Victorian culture that had served the professional managerial class very well in keeping people productive within the system. Something would have to be done about these wild young men, who were openly in full primal battle mode, and ready to “burn the system down maaaan.”
I particularly loved the first part of Raven’s essay because I remember that music, and it’s still among my favorites even today. For one thing, nobody was using digital technology to create music until the 1980s, so the sound of the music is much better than what is produced today.
Also, back in those days, artists didn’t need to self-censor for fear of being cancelled. Go back and look at the lyrics from the cock rock days, then fast-forward to now. They simply don’t compare, as most artists are terrified of being called “fill-in-the-blank-phobic” and having their careers destroyed.
Even the Stones’ new album has songs with rather bland lyrics that don’t come close to the glory that is Brown Sugar:
What Hitler would have sounded like in English
A post on X had a video that uses voice cloning technology to demonstrate what Hitler would have sounded like in English:
Amazing technology, the voice is so close, it’s hard to tell the difference. The addition of color also gives the old video a modern sheen. I don’t know what the technology is, but it did a great job on Hitler’s speech and brought him much closer to the modern era than before.
Now, where is the video of Stalin? That one should be at least as entertaining.
Russia in 1471 and Russia today
Trevor Goodchild posted this image on Gab. It’s hard to argue with his assessment, and it makes me wonder: Why do people keep screwing with Russia? What is it about them that brings out the idiots in the West who insist on starting shit with them? 🙄
Putin discusses Tucker’s interview tactics
Here’s a bit of interesting dish from Putin himself, where he discusses Tucker’s interview tactics:
Putin is an old pro at dealing with journalists, so I never worried that Carlson would pull a fast one on him. There are few journalists in the world that can match Putin in terms of intellect or knowledge of history.
India and Pakistan border security
Somebody posted this video on X, but I do not actually know what is going on here. Still, the movements and uniforms are interesting.

I'm just listening to the "Kingpilled" podcast on Bukele; fascinating stuff, especially highlighting how he ran rings round the corrupt fucks (miscellaneous politicians and judges, supported by the US regime, natch, and the usual NGO suspects) in his first successful presidential run. The guy's not perfect but, until I heard the full story, I didn't realise that we genuinely have an example of a real live "Red Caesar" somewhere in the Western hemisphere.
Rock n roll has been overthrown by hip hop, which is now the new soundtrack for youth culture. Rock music lost its edge a long time ago. Great point. Another great article, with tons of funny memes (as usual).
