Well, what primal comments here, to your intense piece on Vlad Putin, Morthorak. I actually understand why Putin drew the line in the sand, as he felt NATO was threatening his borders. As for Ukraine, a very very very very complex hunk of terror-tory, with changing boundaries and tumultuous history, with Stalin starving many in Ukraine and awful things during WW2. History is one big rat-fest, on all the continents. Putin is no dummy. I have no quarrel with the Russian people. They are stuck in the middle, to some degree. Just reading about the battle of Stalingrad in WW2 and the toughness of the Russian people during that horrible time, I mean, a RUSSIAN WINTER...good grief, stunning stuff. Anyway, I am not wise enough to fully comment, but only to say I do understand Putin a bit more, as he is defending his nation. Not necessarily a nice guy but our guys are not always nice, either...
Indeed he is doing what he has to do to protect Russia. He tried to negotiate with Minsk, and the West spat in his face. Well, that's over with and now the war will end on Russian terms.

1.) The only POTUS he ever respected was BUSH #1
2.) There has been no POTUS since Bush #1 who has tied his own shoes
3.) That while Bush #1 is/was depicted as a country-bumpkin in USA media, he was a brilliant thinker & strategist;
