Donald Trump betrays his base (again)
The recent spending bill for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan got a big boost from Trump at the expense of his populist supporters
In a recent post, I called out the political whores in DC for pissing away another $95 billion on Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. But are you aware of who helped get the bill passed? Yup, Fat Orange Retard himself intervened to get the bill passed. His intervention was a betrayal of his populist base, and it also cut the legs out from under Republicans like Marjorie Taylor Greene who were trying to stop the bill from passing.
So why did he do it?
My theory is that a deal was cut behind the scenes. As you know, Trump has been indicted on bullshit charges in New York and other places. He’s under heavy legal pressure, and it might be that by backing the bill, he might have bought himself some relief from the possibility of going to prison.
We cannot know for sure, however. There might have been other pressures applied to him that have nothing to do with his court cases. As I noted in my first open letter to Donald Trump, he betrayed his White working-class base shortly after becoming president, and he did it again during his reelection campaign. Betrayal is nothing new for Donald Trump, so anyone paying attention should expect such a thing from him.
None of this means that you should not vote for him if you plan to do so in November. A second Trump term would not be nearly as bad as another Biden term, so do not let what I have written here dissuade you from voting. Trump, with all of his faults, is the only game in town if you want to take a swing at the Deep State and the rest of the scum and filth in DC.
However, bear what he did with that funding bill in mind, and temper your expectations for what he might deliver for you. He has never learned the first lesson of politics: You dance with the one who brung you. In his mind, his supporters are there to be used for votes and dispensed with if it suits his needs. In that sense, he is not much different than most other politicians.
We can infer three things about a second Trump term from his support of the bill:
He will continue to fund Israel no matter what they do.
He will go along with the MIC on Ukraine, right down to the last Ukrainian.
He will also go along with the MIC on Taiwan, no matter how it affects the US relationship with China.
In other words, it will be business as usual as far as the military-industrial complex goes if Trump is elected again. For some of you, that is good news; for others, it might be a downer. But so it goes with politicians inside the empire, especially the ones running for president.
Hopefully, we will eventually find out the real reasons why he supported the bill and pushed so hard to get it passed. Sooner or later, the truth is going to come out, and then we will know the price of his betrayal.

The only reason I am voting Trump at this point is for the chaos. I am under no illusion that he will get us out of the mess we are currently in. He has the easiest election in history to win, yet he has decided that throwing himself on the grenade known as Israel somehow takes priority over actually winning the election.
Trump supporters vote for him to drain the swamp.
Memelords vote for him cuz funni.
We are not the same.
