Donald Trump is not going to cut Social Security and Medicare
Ben Shapiro has been shooting his mouth off about the retirement age, giving ammunition to Biden and the Democrats for the election in November
The usual silly crap is beginning to unfold as we get into the general election campaign. Biden is going to try to terrify boomers into voting for him, or at least not voting for Trump, by screaming that Trump is going to cut Social Security and Medicare. This is not a new strategy for the Democrats; they use it on every Republican.
Ben Shapiro: Plunging the knife into Trump’s back
But this time they are getting help from a supposed “conservative” by the name of Ben Shapiro. Shapiro, someone who does not like Trump and who is not liked by Trump, has been mouthing off about Biden’s age and, in the process, also mentioned how he thinks retirement is “a stupid idea” and that the retirement age should be raised:
This kind of idiocy is highly useful to the Democrats. This is exactly what they want, so they can run with a terror campaign painting Donald Trump as the evil monster who wants them homeless, with no food or medical care. No doubt there are some boomers who will fall for such a tactic, convinced that Trump is coming for their Social Security money and Medicare benefits.
You can expect the regime media to run with this tactic all the way through November. You’ll see lots of news articles, TV reports, etc. designed to instill fear in older people that Trump is going to take away their benefits and leave them with nothing whatsoever in terms of financial support or medical care.
It’s all a lie, of course, because Trump has never called for cutting Social Security or Medicare. In fact, he has done the opposite of that, as you can see in this video:
Shapiro has never been MAGA, but that won’t stop the Democrats from using this sort of material and tying it to Trump. The really sickening thing here, though, is that Shapiro, a rich, elitist scumbag, is calling for people who are 65 and older to be forced to keep working. Shapiro no doubt wants them to work themselves to death, so that he can keep a few more dollars in his pocket.
As I noted earlier, Shapiro has always hated Trump, and I would not put it past him to put this material out there to try to help the Democrats. Shapiro is a Never Trumper, and I have no doubt he will try to stick the knife into Trump’s back any way he can between now and November.
Trump on Medicare and Social Security
Trump is not stupid; he knows full well that if he advocated for or signed legislation that cut Social Security and Medicare, it would destroy the Republican Party for at least a generation. Millions of voters would punish the Republicans, and it would create a tsunami of support for Democrats among older voters fearful of losing their benefits.
Cutting Social Security and Medicare would also destroy Trump’s attempt to turn the Republican Party into a working-class party. He would lose all credibility with workers if he slashed the benefits many of them will depend on in their old age. All attempts from that point on to bring working-class people into the Republican Party would be doomed.
It is critical that Trump be very loud about his position on protecting Social Security and Medicare right from the beginning of the campaign. He cannot allow Biden to get any sort of traction on those two programs, or he will end up like Mitt Romney when he lost to Barry Soetoro. So Trump needs to reassure seniors immediately that he will not sign any legislation that cuts their benefits.
Why does anybody listen to Shapiro’s bullshit?
As for Shapiro, I hope someday he loses his wealth and has to face life as an older person without the political and corporate connections that he has used all his life to build his wealth. His arrogance and money-grubbing blinds him to the reality of life as a poor person dependent on Social Security and Medicare.
It also speaks to Shapiro’s total lack of character as a man and a human being that he wants to force older people - whose bodies become frail with age - to keep working until they drop. Talk about a heartless, son-of-a-bitch. I’ve always despised Shapiro, but that video really shows you the kind of individual he is and why nobody should listen to him.
To the best of my knowledge, Ben Shapiro has never worked a real job. He sits behind a computer, spews his bullshit, and gets paid for it. It's a nice gig if you can get it, but it also shows how totally cut off from the reality of working-class people he is, and how he simply doesn’t give a shit about them.
Remember that, my frens, the next time you are tempted to listen to Ben Shapiro’s show. Shapiro doesn’t care about you, not at all, not in any way. So you should return the favor: shun him and stop watching his show.
If it were up to Ben Shapiro, you’d spend the last years of your life working yourself to death.

Is Shapiro still around? I figured he'd be like the flavor of the month and be gone.
I'm sorry. I'm fifty-five, and I'm already ready to retire. Shapiro can shut his pie hole and get back to trying to schill on YouTube.
I wish, just once, that the Democrats would run an honest campaign and give people a good reason to vote. But, as usual, they won't.
If you’re not saving and investing for your own retirement, you’re on team chump. SS is a ponzi scheme. It, and the other ginormous entitlement programs, are unsustainable and will break the budget and/or cause rampant inflation. You’ll get your retirement check, alright, but you’ll need it all to buy a loaf of bread. They will have to raise the age, reduce benefits, or means test people out of the program (probably all three) or the U.S. dollar will be severely devalued. This is the economic reality regardless of what the political nattering knuckleheads may say.
