If you’re not saving and investing for your own retirement, you’re on team chump. SS is a ponzi scheme. It, and the other ginormous entitlement programs, are unsustainable and will break the budget and/or cause rampant inflation. You’ll get your retirement check, alright, but you’ll need it all to buy a loaf of bread. They will have to raise the age, reduce benefits, or means test people out of the program (probably all three) or the U.S. dollar will be severely devalued. This is the economic reality regardless of what the political nattering knuckleheads may say.
It's obviously a psyop and a painfully obvious one. My immediate notion was that this was a stupid statement and my brother Dan said 'Americans should look to the French, for how to properly react to someone wanting to raise retirement ages'.
My own view though is that Shapiro was always someone who was a Democrat voter and not a conservative. Him and almost all those at the DW seem to really hate Trump, (Almost but not all), so that I'd bet a whole lot of money someone slipped some cash over to Benny to get him to put this ad out there, in order to give the Democrats material against Trump.
I'd bet anything had he been around for guys like Teddy Roosevelt, or Reagan he'd have done the same thing to them, heck he'd backstab Washington if he was alive back then. Shapiro's a rat.
Ben is a Boomercon in spirit: riches = morality, rural whites are dumb rubes, if you’re poor you’re a morally bad person, bootstraps, etc. Time for Ben to retire.
For a time, I worked in D.C. but couldn’t yet move the family down there for person reasons. So I worked three days in D.C., drove back up to New England on Wednesday, worked the next two days remotely, and drove back to D.C. late Sunday. Yes, it was awful and my work wouldn’t allow full telework at the time. But those car rides gave me opportunity to listen to podcasts.
As this was in fall of 2015 and into 2016, many podcasts were political. I did listen to Ben Shapiro’s show, being aware of him from his WorldNetDaily days and his writing on Breitbart, before that website became what it became. Anyway, he struck me as an in-the-know guy, but the first inkling he wasn’t honest came with that whole Corey Lewandowski//Michelle Fields stupidity. Listening to Shapiro, it sounded like Lewandowski full-body tackled Fields. I had to watch the video.
Nope. He grabbed her forearm and held her back. The kind of thing if done to a dude and not a pretty woman would have raised zero eyebrows.
Next, I noticed a tone shift in Ben’s show. Instead of presenting a recap and analysis of what happened in the political news of the day, it overnight became anti-Trump. And that’s fine, the guy can like whomever he wants, but that wasn’t what bothered me. What bothered me was how that’s all he seemed to talk about anymore. And then he’d start just lying about what Trump did or said. Straight-up fabrications. Or shading things with half-truths and ridiculous assumptions.
That’s what turned me off from Ben. “The real winner was Marco Rubio, even though he came a distant third.” Like, face reality dude. He could’ve been as anti-Trump as he wanted and I still would’ve listened if he just TOLD THE TRUTH. I listened to an audiobook biography about Trump called “Never Enough” which was very anti-Trump, but the author mostly stuck to stuff that was factual (though his analysis took some gigantic leaps of logic at times). Still, on the whole, an interesting book.
Shapiro? Not only do I think he’s intellectually dishonest, I don’t think he’s all that smart or insightful. He talks fast, which often gets confused for intelligence. But when he just talked about the actual news, he was pretty good. Alas.
Shapiro doesn't like working class Americans anymore because they've been saying lately that they're not interested in dying for Israel. He's of the opinion that we need more immigration to replace them with people who will.
Anyway, if Trump would like to talk about retirement benefits maybe he should come up with a plan for how those of us under fifty are going to get them when our time comes.
I agree. But the promise of medicare and social security is that you won't have to do that, because the government's gonna do it for you. Given the poor job they've been doing of that, I'm really curious how Trump or anyone else plans to avoid cuts. To the tune of 100%.
I finally got it through my skull, around 10 years ago, that this is happening regardless of whatever politicians promise so I still have another decade or two to build up that plan B.
Absent a really plausible plan, and I don't mean "import tens of millions of people who will pay for it," I'm guessing Trump is talking mad shit like every other politician about keeping these programs going, and the real plan is to keep bleeding me to buy votes with no intention whatsoever of delivering on their end of the contract when the time comes.
Cuts will be made regardless. Either the programs get reworked for lower benefits or later retirement or they will collapse under the weight. More immigrants are just a greater burden on the taxpayer since there aren't jobs for them and the over supply of labor depresses wages for Americans and puts more of them on the dole.
Not sure Trump is a conservative but he does understand business economics.
Pushing Grandma in her wheelchair off a cliff 2: electric boogaloo. Dems political strategies never change (they’ll take away abortion access, they’ll kick you off your health insurance plan, they’re going to take away SSI!) and they always work on the nitwits.
The real question is who is KUSHNER? WHo is Rodham? Who is dTrumpf? Who is Adelson, who is Netanyahu
These are all satanic ZOG kosher-nostra ashkeNAZI that enabled each other to climb that satanic ladder since the 1980's as team
Back in the 1980's when Netanyahu was a nobody he used to stay at Kushner Seniors home ( now in prison for mob activity ), Netanyahu would sleep with Jared as the house was short of beds;
HRC her father is Rodham, he ran "Murder, Inc" in chicago kosher-nostra
Kushner was kosher-nostra
Ivanka & chelsea both married into the most power kosher-nostra mob familys in USA/ISRAEL/LONDON
Sheldon Adelson richest man in Israel, owns all the worlds most elite whore-houses, he got most of his white slaves from Trump&Epstein who groomed little girls from 1980s to 2011, as NYC-teen modelling, direct to NJ Atlantic city casinos and then on to world casinos;
Adelson frist act when Trump announced run in 2016 was to write a check for $120 Million USD to pay for Trump campaign #1 effectively OWNING TRUMP POTUS and telling who to fill in cabinet;
Some truth here, TRUMP will bankrupt the US-GOV leading to the GOV inability to pay on social-sec or medicare this was predicted to occur in 2025 per deagle report in 1990's (CIA SITREP),
The point is who ever is POTUS will be blamed, I don't wish that on anybody, Trump want own it, up to him.
I understand the desire not to vote, and I respect it. It must be a personal choice and who can tell how it will all turn out, given the cheating by the Dems, etc. We will have to wait and see.
I agree, Heather, they are old and annoying, and boring too. I don't believe any of their bullshit. Rubin is smoother than Shapiro, but just as bad in terms of being a political pundit.
Is Shapiro still around? I figured he'd be like the flavor of the month and be gone.
I'm sorry. I'm fifty-five, and I'm already ready to retire. Shapiro can shut his pie hole and get back to trying to schill on YouTube.
I wish, just once, that the Democrats would run an honest campaign and give people a good reason to vote. But, as usual, they won't.

I used to like Ben Shapiro and followed him on Facebook years ago. In my opinion his inflated ego has ruined him.
Boomers are easily terrified, as were their parents. Perhaps a generation will arise which is willing to think, we can hope.

It's called personal savings and investment. It requires living below your means.

Trump has served as an excellent “test” of people. Those that are against him I am against.

As always a well written article, keeping me in the loop on what’s happening.
