Mailed in my ballot today. I wish I could have gone in person, but life made it so I had to do absentee. I’m having a hard time trusting the system after the last go around, but not voting at all was never part of the equation. I can’t give them that satisfaction.

Amen to that, Simon. Well done. I must wait until election day, but I shall go in the morning most likely as that is a quieter time than later in the day.

Trump has learned the most important lesson in politics: personnel is policy.

In 2017, Trump brought in the usual suspects, sorted mainly by those willing to do flattery. His only exception was Steve Bannon, who was soon kicked out for being ugly, unkempt, and disagreeable.

This time around he has former critics on his team. Critics who have a spine and competence, but also have shared values: J.D. Vance, RFK Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, Elon Musk, and maybe a Libertarian not yet named. Hopefully, Trump has learned enough humility to keep such willful people on board and let them do their things, even if it involves a bit of pushback now and then. Contra Vox Day, a great leader cultivates other leaders. You cannot run an organization as big as the U.S. Government with a bunch of simpering yes men.

Great points, Fabius. He does seem to have brought in a somewhat different crowd this time, and I hope it continues. He needs people to counteract the ass-kissers.

Paul Elias Alexander do you think? Certainly not, I hope, Robert Malone.

Morgthorak, just a point which I have noticed, from personal experience. In the 50's, 60's, my older brothers earned money from shoveling snow, mowing lawns, taking out trashcans for our elderly courtesy aunt across the street, from doing a paper route by bike. I, in my time, earned money by babysitting and teaching piano lessons. All earnings from all of us were banked for our individual future college expenses. While teaching in public secondary schools 2000-2021, I observed the frequency of my students being dismissed early from last period class (Latin, in my case) to go off to games. And returning home ~9:30 p.m. at which time they were to do homework???? This directed focus on sports was not present in my youth. For all the verbiage about team sports making you this or that, they certainly do not make the player a scholar. Trying to fit in assignments while on the bus or at practice--not conducive to thought.

I agree. I always found ball sports boring anyway. Boxing, wrestling, jujitsu are better sports. However, everything in moderation, including sports.

I voted today! Had to stand in line for the first time in decades! I didn’t see any Harris/walz stickers on any of the cars outside. I didn’t see several Trump bumper stickers—which is saying something because I have seen only a handful of stickers all year. Everyone waiting in line was smiling! I take that as a hopeful sign. Get out and vote. It feels good!

I meant to say “I DID see several Trump stickers”. So tired of autofill

Great job, Ellis! I shall join you on election day. 👍🏻

I as well. Wondering if this push to vote early, joined by "our side", functions to give Democrats plenty of time to determine the number of false ballots to create. Am I nuts?

They don't have the mail-in ballots, see Barnes and Baris What Are the Odds on Youtube or Rumble.

Hope this election ends soon, hey considering the Canadian election is in just after yours, any chance Trump might interfere in ours like the CIA always does except he'll redirect things in favour of Bernier (our only pro-Canadian & Quebecois option)?

Honestly things are pretty much shittier up here than down south. Another year of neo-con/neolib nonsense will be the end of us.

That's quite the impassioned plea there. It won't work with me, because I won't vote for anyone who supports funding Israel in this time of genocide, even if I believe that Trump's support is shallower than many, especially Netanyahu, think.

OTOH, I'm not going to tell anyone not to vote for Trump. I do urge people to not vote for $kamala, but there are several ways to do that, only one of which is voting for Trump.

Anyway, Pennsylvania is the key to this election, and $kamala's been hit with a double whammy there. First, Obama goes to Pittsburgh and addresses black men in the same way white liberals address you, and if anything he persuaded them to get out and vote--for Trump. Then Trump slings fries at a McDonald's drive-thru AND LOOKs RIGHT AT HOME DOING IT.

He seemed to be enjoying himself, and he probably really was. Can anyone even imagine Kamala slinging fries in an apron? Voters notice things like that. It's like Bill Clinton playing pool in a bar versus Poppy Bush marveling at barcode scanners while buying socks to show how ordinary he is.

Who looked more genuine then? The answer is the same--the guy who looked comfortable with real working class people.

True, he pulled off the McDonald's thing very well indeed. But he's also somebody that goes to UFC fights and that sort of thing. He likes his bling, but his tastes also run to what some working class people like too.

Kamala would consider McDonald's beneath her. As would Hillary and the rest of them. Or they would think it was "sexist" for her to put on an apron. 🙄

I'm glad Obama bombed. Such an arrogant asshole. I wish he would just go away.

If he is, as many are claiming, he may well be hosting some nasty, incurable, morbidity which will do him in.

Who? Obama or Trump?

Obama. Trump does not appear to harbor homosexual tendencies .

He who counts the votes, and he who prints the votes, both determine who wins. I wish you were right, but I'm pretty sure they are going to steal it again.
