On the downside this is already screwing supply chains, so stock up on what you need now.

And expect prices to skyrocket if this goes on much longer.

All part of the plan, I'm sure.

Well, the Houthis just want the war in Gaza to end. So perhaps this will encourage an end to that? We'll see, I guess.

I just want the war to end, too, but alas...

So I’m military (UK) and when we go to the Gulf there’s so many briefs about the BAM. When we pass through that strip of water we’re at the highest alert.

It’s only been in recent years that the Houthis have stepped up attacks.

This effects the economy of the whole world. I don't really get the rationale. This would hurt China and Russia too, wouldn't it?

I believe they are allowing Chinese and Russian vessels to go through, it's just the GAE and its vassals that they are attacking.

Just noticed The Economist has an article about supply chain woes, too. Most behind a pay wall so I couldn't read all of it, but it gets the point across.

Isn't this why we have a Marine Corps?

And this makes what? 5 conflicts that we've lost? Vietnam, Terror, Drugs, Afghanistan, and now the Houthis?

This is what happens when your war department would rather be a social club than the leaders of combat forces.

Trump would have fired cruise missiles already.

We haven't lost the war on Christmas. Those who think it's a commercial time of the year, go out and purchase stuff. Those who think it's the Whatever season, think it's the whatever season.

Those of us who celebrate the Birth of Christ, still celebrate the birth of Christ. Who cares what the asshats in DC do?

All up and down my block, it was Christmas. When i got to work tonight, the inmates wished me a Merry Christmas. My family celebrated Christmas this morning.

But that's just my rant.

Our troops in Iraq and Syria have been attacked over 100 times in recent months, I can not find one news item that the current regime has allowed them to defend themselves. The retreat from smashing the Houthis is just another instance of the craven cowards that inhabit this administration. Clueless, weak, corrupt people have put all our lives at risk.

I'm glad France & Spain withdrew, I really do feel a great deal of affection for them, and feel that their navals are better served looking after their interests and preparing for the inevitable withdrawal from overseas ventures on the part of America. No offence intended, but it seems to me that America's overseas adventures can't last, especially as the population seems utterly disinterested in anything other than their own coasts and maybe helping Japan or Vietnam out (which good, I support that as this makes sense).

Seems to me that Putin, Biden, the Deep-State of the GAE are all embarrassments that are pale shadows of their ancestors and of previous generation leaders such as De Gaulle, Eisenhower, Patton, and many others, or even Napoleon, Wellington, or even Cardinal Richelieu, Louis XIII, Tokugawa, Toyotomi, Admiral Yi and so many others.

De Gaulle abandoned the French in Algeria. Eisenhower loved his Death Camps for the surrendered German soldiers. They suck

Putin has time and again messed up with his Asian diplomatic efforts, so that he has displeased China, Japan, Vietnam on top of egging for an all-out war in Africa with a myriad of states and especially made clear his hatred of the French in particular. It must be remembered also that Muslims are moving increasingly and colonizing Russia, and how he is bleeding Russians by the hundreds of thousands. In all truth, his every effort in the past two years has been a fiasco, just as it has been for those in command of the whole of the US, the EU, the individual countries of europe saving Poland & Hungary, with Japan, China, Korea & Vietnam along with the Philippines the only countries along with those such as Uruguay and El Salvador the only countries with commendable leaders oh and I suppose there is also Argentina. As these countries are running circles around everyone else.

In truth Putin is a midget compared to his ancestors such as Catherine the Great and her immediate successors. Russia is facing many of the problems we face in the West. He is no Enoch Powell, nor Christ, but rather a disaster just as all leaders are. I do not mind multi-polarity and find it the best solution to the current problems but think that Putin's efforts are not good for Russia.

Is it possible that Putin has good and also bad points (as you have clearly pointed out). All Western “leaders” are traitors devoid of good points in contrast to this ?
