A few months after Floyd died in Minneapolis and our City Council members were constantly screaming "Defund the Police" carjackings were up something like 700%. The response of voters? To make the council MORE progressive. Meanwhile I was working for the Park Board in 2021, homeless had taken over some of the parks, some of them were violent and perverted, and the council. the Park Board, the County, State, all turned their backs and basically left us lowly parkkeepers to deal with it. Antifa was sending flyers around saying straight up they would do violence to anyone who tried to clear a homeless camp. Police have gone from 890 to about 520. Wouldn't even show up for most calls. I loved that city. Happy to be gone.
