Giving unqualified people positions of authority because they have the “correct” sexual preferences will be a disaster for every company attempting it. It’s starting to look like a sure fire way to make money is to short sell companies that go all in on DEI and LGBTQ.
Never, I am a gamer and will remain such, but as with anything: moderation is key. There are other things in life and gaming should complement them not replace them.
I don't generally, as I prefer reading and movies, but I don't see anything wrong with men gaming, like everything it should be done in moderation. First men must take control of their situation, improve themselves and treat games either as a social form of entertainment with one's friends or as a piece of literature.
I felt my reply to you Raven was unnecessarily harsh, I also don't have the time for games these days due to work, new relationship and writing 6-7 serial novels (as I want to change the culture, and restore old fashioned Victorian & French lit to people), so I think you do have a point there. As after a moment's thought, I think you might have a point about the need for men and women to sort their lives out before gaming. So I wanted to say, thanks for your concern and I comprehend your point there. Moderation as you and Morg have pointed out is key.
I think moderation is possible with different things for different people. If you like something, a *lot*, and it's fucking up your life, that's a good sign that this is not a thing you can do in moderation.
Things change over time too. Gaming used to be a serious vice for me. Figured out it was certain kinds of games that spell trouble, figured out why, fixed that and stayed away from those types of games. Now I play a game every once in a while like I have a beer or glass of wine (never had a problem with alcohol) or read a trashy fantasy novel (boy did I ever have a problem with trashy novels) every once in a while.
Good on you for getting off the hippie lettuce. That one's a lot rougher for some people than it has any right to be. "Bro it's non addictive bro, studies have shown" "I'm perfectly functional, I actually work better on weed bro" "I'll get going after one more bowl bro". I never liked the stuff much but man, saw so many people flush their lives away with it.
Best strategy is to keep physical stuff: CDs/DVDs/cartridges for games, DVDs/VHS for films, CDs/vinyl for music, and of course books. If all you have is online, well, it's not really yours, so it can be changed at will. It's already happening with "e"books.
Anyway, most games I play are from the late 90s / early 00s.
Nah the american gaming industry has been dead for almost a decade now. We're just watching the bugmen slowly consume its corpse. I would not even bother with letter writing or performative boycott. They do _not_ give a shit, and you'll probably get put on a list if you try. Just walk away and don't look back if you don't want to turn into a pillar of salt.
You can't really go to Japan for non-degenerate shit either. You'll just get a different kind of degeneracy. And anyway they're infamous for "adjusting" their games for "american expectations" when they do ports, so even if the original game wasn't rainbowed there's a good chance the english version will be.
There are still some good indie developers out there, but you have to be discerning because quite a few of the AA indies are queered as well, or started out that way. Particularly keep an eye open for any who got art welfare grants (most Canadian and UK indies fall into this category). These are almost inevitably trash.
There's the eurojank AA studios, mostly out of central and eastern european countries, but their games are ... well, jank. Frustrating to play, generally kind of boring, but no alphabet crap at least? Waste of your time IMO.
Handful of good US/EU graybeard indies but their games are not child appropriate for reasons of complexity and adult themes (in the maturity/sophistication sense, not the porn sense). Bay12 and Spiderweb are exemplars here: insanely complex, highly technical, visually unappealing, and not suitable for kids.
Good points, I think it makes sense to check out games carefully before buying. They aren't all under the thumb of the AM, but a lot likely are compared to how it used to be. I still like gaming so I'm not willing to walk away just yet, but I see your point about telling the kids to go outside and play too. Everything in moderation after all.
I used to love games almost as much as books, but it's a real wasteland out there now.
Maybe once or twice a year I find something worth spending more than a few minutes on. I'd be willing to allocate more time than that if anyone could be bothered to impress me but ... eh. I'm not gonna spend 5 hours doomscrolling on steam trying to find anything at all that has more than infantile mechanics *and* isn't pozzed *and* looks playable.
Last thing I checked out was some city builder game about post apocalyptic communist beavers restoring civilization after ecological catastrophe, which was kind of amusing. Don't recall the name. Really tight design, deceptively challenging. Not especially pretty or flashy. Felt like a blast from the past.
Admittedly, Link has been super androgynous for decades and the all the flirting with Sheik feels fairly transgressive in context (was that in Ocarina?), but the gender play there is all so innocent and natural compared to what kids have shoved in their faces these days.
I agree, I liked the latest Zelda game, there is much there to enjoy. But I don't care for how Link looks. Remember the old, more masculine Link from previous games? That is how he should be drawn.
But then again Nintendo sold like 10 million copies of the latest Zelda game, so what do I know, right? 😉
Of course, the Rainbow Brigade wants to control the gaming industry. Once they get it, they'll gut it like every other industry they infiltrated. Then they'll destroy it because people don't want to see more Alphabet mafia games.
I last played online games about about 2019. The online games are boring and lackluster, and I can't find one I like.
But saying that, the rainbow brigade is working along with the socialists to brainwash everyone into a new way of thinking.
Too late. They’ve been inside our games as long as they’ve been inside our schools and Disney.
It simply boils down to our ability to accept. Conservatives have been WAY too “accepting” for WAY too long. We are merely seeing the fruits of our lack of labors.
Except that the pedos would be safe and secure on death row and likely get pardoned by a woke gov. Better to put them in gen pop - the others take care of that mess in a more suitable fashion.
Yeah unfortunately a lot of the makerspaces are pozzed.
But there's nothing magical about them. Pool your resources with some other based dads and you'll probably have a better assortment of tools and skills than you'll find at any of the corpo-sponsored soy factories.
Even the fancy tech shit is pretty cheap for entry-level these days. Can get a pretty good 3d printer for around $400, and with that print parts for an open-source CNC mill, which is a fun project (my aborted attempt sits in a box for want of space at the moment, but hope to resume it when I get a garage or workshop again; I can vouch for it not being terribly complicated or difficult to do). A decent soldering station runs a couple hundred bucks, two to three times that if you want one of the big name-brand ones; but a very worthwhile investment vs. chinesium soldering irons sold at hardware stores.

The Alphabet Mafia can just go to hell, hope Nintendo and gaming never gives into these freaks.
There are still games like Mario Kart that are fun and aren't overtly sexual, etc.
Ah okay

Agreed

I really don’t mind it. I think it’s a little bit funny! It’s a little sad they stopped making him left-handed though. So much for inclusion! :P

Yay to Idaho!

Get them into Warhammer. Servitude to the God-Emperor is all we need.
