> "if we don't fight them there we will have to fight them here"

They are already here, invited and shipped in by the tens and hundreds of thousands, and you helped pay for it, though you weren't asked.

The best outcome would be realizing we have a common enemy. When we have dealt with that we can figure out whether they'll go home voluntarily, or whether we'll have to fight about that too.

But this likely won't happen. What will happen is the boomercons and the Zionists, the fucking reptiles, will continue escalating until it becomes a no-holds-barred fight to the death, and we'll find out the hard way that our own land is a major front in that conflict, with the "enemy" and the real enemy both utterly disinterested in distinguishing between civilian and military targets.

If you go over there, you won't be here to defend people you care about. Don't go. Certainly don't volunteer, and resist any attempt at conscription. Help others resist it too. Demonstrated will and ability to avoid conscription might be the only thing that changes the calculus enough to prevent the worst possible outcome.

I cannot argue with your assessment. Well said.

I think something that people are leaving out is the fact that China is a large importer of Iranian oil. About 15% of China's oil comes from Iran....something like 1.45 million barrels of oil a day. That is a lot of oil. China and Iran conduct a lot of trade in other goods as well. So, I wouldn't be surprised if a war breaks out that China works behind the scenes to aid Iran because they can't afford to lose all that trade and the oil.

I am concerned about the potential closing of the strait of Hormuz and the economic implications here in America. I imagine the oil price would spike and collapse the equity markets. All kinds of economic strife would break out and destroy the country. Imagine people who lose their entire stock portfolio after working for 30-40 years and cannot retire. What would they do? Suicide? Shoot their neighbor? I imagine some of them might be willing to shoot their politicians at that point. Our economic system is already fragile due to the debt burden and insane corruption.....I don't think it can handle any major stresses or it will break.

Anyway, good article. Let's see what happens in the upcoming weeks.

I could not agree more on the consequences. They could be catastrophic if oil prices shoot up. Yet, we have these idiot neocons running the government, and Biden has become an ornament in the oval office. Nobody seems to care what he thinks, nor is he all there any more mentally anyway.

A very bad situation.

I don’t doubt China will help Iran. It is in their interest to do so, along with Russia. Another reason for the US empire to keep Israel under control, but that is not happening, unfortunately.

I read from a comment on Moon of Alabama (good blog for geopolitics) that Nutty called in the assassination of Nasrallah from the UN and that makes us an accomplice. I don't believe a legit president or admin who have any respect for themselves or their country would have allowed this and surely wouldn't let it go unpunished.

Old Netty doesn't GAF what the senile US president thinks, he has the Congress in his pocket and behaves as such.

Dangerous times.

Yes, that is a good blog. Here is another good one: https://johnhelmer.net/

Morgthorak. Thanks for that precise summation of the current situation. Of course the MSM here (Australia) paint a complete inversion of the truth. The government here is trying to push through a "disinformation bill" to prevent people finding out the truth. Also, there is no First Amendment here either.

They never stop, do they? They can't have the plebs know what's going on or they might get mad enough to try to put a stop to it. It's just one lie after another, and not just in Australia either. The same thing is happening all over the West.

Yes. Almost as if coordinated from some global entity!

Readers of Morgthorak: of course, you must vote as your conscience directs. But I hope that that inner voices directs you to vote for Donald J. Trump. If Mr. Trump is inaugurated as 47, WWIII will be averted. If Kammie is installed, WWIII is a given.

Cannot decide which is better--first paragraph or second paragraph. And in support of contention of first paragraph (its thesis, not its place in the popularity contest): the repetition ad nauseam of the word "baseless" modifying "claims"/"accusations". Just as, only a few months previous, public mouths spouted another stomach-churning repetition of "this DEADLY disease". Whatever requires that level of repetition screams "I'm a LIE!" Now, back to paragraph three.

"There is no strong chief executive around to put a stop to Israel’s bullshit." True that. When did we last have a strong chief executive who was willing to put a stop to Israel's bullshit?

IMHO, we have to go all the way back to Poppy Bush in 1991, who defied the Israelis and neocons by refusing to conquer and occupy Iraq during the Gulf War. Now the two major presidential candidates are falling all over themselves proclaiming their love for Israel is greater than that of the other. Words cannot adequately convey the depths of my contempt for them, and for the shame of my country supporting that bunch of deluded genocidal maniacs in Tel Aviv and West Jerusalem.

I know, it is sickening how Trump and Kamala are behaving that way. But it shows you the power of AIPAC in the US now. All of the politicians live in fear of the Israeli lobby.

It is so sad that we have to go to the Duran to find out reliable news about Ukraine and the Middle East. Rest in peace, Gonzalo Lira. The neo cons will stop at nothing to put us at war with Iran or Russia or China or whoever else feeds their blood lust. Vote Trump 2024.

Indeed, I miss Gonzalo too. However, my curse is still in effect for all those involved in his murder. It will remain in effect for 55 years as that was his age when he died. Slowly, inevitably, my curse will take down all of his murderers.

Excellent article. And on top of it — and I apologize for going off somewhat off topic — but we have reached a new fiscal year. The debt now is a hair in excess of $35 trillion. I can’t fathom what that kind of money would look like if I saw it with my own eyes.

I say this because, money is no object for this bankrupt empire, and that when, not if, this war kicks off, the debt will go even further beyond the ionosphere.

Anymore, it seems like the imperials meet once a year to determine how far to raise the debt ceiling. I’ve not heard of single meeting that is held to start working that number down instead of up.

I think it’s because war is both a currency, and a type of adrenachrome that the scum in Hollywood acquire through satanic rituals and inject themselves with. When you end war, this empire will shrivel up and turn into a crunchy leaf under foot.

I came to this conclusion because of what’s happening in North Carolina. The devastation down there truly is of biblical proportions, and all FEMA can do is give people $750. That’s it. While $175 billion or so was sent to Ukraine and nearly $200 million was just sent to Lebanon.

War is always going to be the balance to the checkbook for these people — and lastly, fuck Lindsey Graham.

Thank you and everyone for the opportunity to comment, especially if you read to the end. I have so much contempt for this government of thugs that I can’t stand it.
