The Gaza Holocaust

What is happening in Gaza is not a genocide; it is a holocaust

If you read the title of this article, you are likely expecting to see a recitation of the slaughter happening in Gaza right now. You might even expect to see graphic photos or videos of dead Palestinians and that sort of thing. Well, that’s not what this article is about so you won’t find any of that here.

Instead, I want to talk about a word that you are all very familiar with:

Holocaust

Anybody living in the West now has heard the word a zillion times in reference to World War 2, and likely associates the word with that time period. But who gets to define and control a word? Who gets to decide what “holocaust” means, and how long do they get to keep that control?

It’s an interesting question, isn’t it? And not one that many people are talking about, as most people refer to what is happening in Gaza as a genocide. I have fallen into that trap, but I realized recently that a more accurate word for the events in Gaza is “holocaust.” Yes, the very word that was appropriated and controlled by a certain group after World War 2 is quite applicable to the current slaughter and death happening in Gaza.

So, I propose that from this point forward, everybody change their terminology from the "genocide in Gaza" to the "Gaza Holocaust." I believe it’s a much more accurate reflection of what's happening. It is important to take the word Holocaust back from those who have controlled it and used it as a weapon since the end of World War 2.

Why do I say it’s more accurate? Well, it is obvious to me now that the first part of the plan by the Israeli and American governments is to make Gaza uninhabitable and to kill as many Palestinians as possible along the way. The second part of the plan is to remove as many Palestinians from Gaza as possible, and to empty that land completely while resettling the surviving Palestinians somewhere else.

This fits into what is happening in the West Bank as well. There, the plan has been to flood it with settlers and slowly force the Palestinians out. This fits into the “Greater Israel” ideology that is prevalent in Netanyahu’s government.

When Gaza is empty of Palestinians, it will be annexed by Israel, as will the West Bank. Thus, the creation of “Greater Israel” will be achieved, and the conflict happening in Palestine will end in favor of the Israelis. They will control all the land, and there will be no Palestinians around to oppose them.

What will happen to the Palestinians? Where will they go? What will they do? That is not the concern of the Israeli government or its American vassal state. They do not worry about the Palestinians health or well-being; the only concern they have now is to force all of them out of Gaza and the West Bank.

So what you are seeing in Gaza is not a genocide; it’s a holocaust for the Palestinians. Many have already lost their lives, but ultimately, the Israeli and American governments plan for all of them to lose everything they have, including the very land that they have lived on for so long. If necessary, they plan for them to lose their lives if they attempt to stop the creation of Greater Israel.

Do you see now why taking back the word “holocaust” matters so much?
