I detested the LOTR and Hobbit films for the issues you discuss. Jackson desecrated Faramirs character by completely altering the story, made no sense 20 years ago and still pisses me off. Faramir is almost the opposite of Boromir in the books, to the point where he can take the ring but chooses not to as he understands it would be a folly, but Jackson makes it where they are pretty much twins and both try to take the ring from frodo. Frodos character is nothing but a whiny bitch in the movies, by time he made it to mount doom I was hoping he would fall into the crack rather than the ring. Only character I actually like in the film is Sam, could write a novel on how awful Orlando bloom was as Legolas. Stepping down from my soap box….
Excellent point about Faramir. I had forgotten that, but you are totally right. That character was totally off. I'm going to pin your comment. Faramir deserved far better than he got in that movie.
What? You didn't like Legolas taking out the Oliphant all by himself? 😂
Faramir is one of the most important characters that Frodo meets and Jackson treated him like he was some stooge of Gondor who had no critical thinking skills, much like how Hollywood views the rest of us. Hahahahahaha, had forgotten about Legolas taking down an Oliphant all by himself(during the battle of the Pellenor Fields Tolkien wrote about how Gondor's archers had to get in really close to shoot them in the eyes and many were killed but not Jackson's version of Legolas, I could write books on how awful these movies were), god Bloom was just awful as Legolas. I don't know what he was going for with the character but what he ended up as was an effeminate jackass who had no business staining Tolkien's work with his awful portrayal.
Since this movie won't be made for me (a serious aficionado of Tolkien's work) but will be made for Modern Audience Considerations, I won't be going to see it. To be honest, I haven't watched the Hobbit movies or the desolation of Smog. By the way, that's also my reasoning for not watching Star Wars or Star Trek anymore. They've taken something well written and turned it into shyte on the ground.
At least when I went to watch Dungeons and Dragons Honor Among Thieves, I knew it was a parody film, but it was serious, just as Spaceballs wasn't serious about science fiction.
I keep hoping that these morons in charge of entertainment will get through their skulls that we don't want to watch any film that has the representation of LGBT+, Guhl Power, or Man bashing.
That's why people liked Deadpool and Wolverine so much. It wasn't meant to be serious.
But then, the left destroyed comedies years ago, and their efforts prove they don't understand humor.
Lefties/Communists/Woke can never create, just destroy.
Great comments, Joseph. I checked out of all the Star Crap too. Absolute garbage now.
Yeah, Deadpool and Wolverine has made a ton of money. People wanted something fun without a bunch of political bullshit. You'd think the hollywood fools would have figured that out a long time ago. 🙄
It's the same plot and dialogue of every single Disney movie of the last 20 years. I'm not even disgusted by it anymore. The only thing I can muster is exhausted contempt.
Because they know that actually 99.4% of water and sewer workers are men, and we wouldn’t even even get a glass of water without men. We wouldn’t get homes, built, warm, gas, and electricity. We certainly wouldn’t have planes automobiles.
I hate most females.
They arrogantly take credit for everything men get right.
WTF. Jackson changed practically every major male character so he could rearrange it all into a girl power soapfest. Tolkien imagined a complex mythic feudal world with virtues & sins writ larger than life, which curiously reminded us what heights our own lives can strive for. Jackson upends all that to make a fatuous woke polemic.

"Our fathers speak as if I am not even in the room"
*sigh*
Nauseating! And also a terrible message to send to young girls. Such awful propaganda.

If women don’t need men anymore, why don’t they just take us out back and shoot us. Jeeze, stop pretending, makes women look weak.
😂

I love the way iPhone just put some random commas everywhere

Feminism is cancer. I used to love the movies. I hate them now.
Agree, Had to watch Casablanca the other night to reminisce.
