What if Donald Trump becomes Speaker of the House of Representatives?
Political shenanigans are afoot in the imperial capital, and the consequences could be hilarious!
The political drama in the imperial capital has taken a most amusing turn. After the ouster of Kevin McCarthy, the Republicans in the House are beginning to choose another speaker and guess who has stepped forward to volunteer to be the “great unifier?” Yes, Donald Trump himself!
Former President Donald Trump said Thursday he was willing to step in and be Speaker of the House for up to 90 days to help unify a Republican Party in disarray after Rep. Kevin McCarthy's chaotic ousting.
The former president is already expected to wade into the drama on Capitol Hill next week by appearing at a candidate forum for the race for House speaker on Tuesday.
Trump - who is running for president again - spoke to Fox News Digital and said he would be open to briefly taking the job himself.
'I have been asked to speak as a unifier because I have so many friends in Congress,' Trump said. 'If they don't get the vote, they have asked me if I would consider taking the speakership until they get somebody longer-term because I am running for president.'
The speaker of the House is third in line to the White House in the order of presidential succession.
Trump’s narcissism serves him well
You’ve got to give it to Trump; he has a unique way of leveraging his endless narcissism to insert himself into something that has nothing to do with him. He saw an opening in this situation and moved swiftly to take advantage of it.
Now, lest you think that this is some joke or throwaway remark of his, note that he will appear at the candidate forum for speaker. Is he just going there on a lark? I do not think so; if he weren’t intent on doing it, he wouldn’t spend five seconds going there.
He also posted this image on the Truth Social site:
That image is way too bland if you ask me, I prefer something like this (it just needs the speaker’s gavel added to it):
Of course, Trump isn’t going to come out and say he wants the job. It would not look good if he did so and didn’t get it. So he’s wrapped himself up in the bullshit mantle of the “great unifier” of the Republicans in the House to hide his genuine interest. It’s not a bad strategy since he can laugh it off if he is not picked as speaker.
The Trump show in the House of Representatives
If he is picked, we are in for a very entertaining show, depending on how long he is the speaker. He has said “up to 90 days,” but it wouldn’t surprise me if he stayed longer if he is successful at worming his way into the job.
Think of how his presence in the House would gall all the Democrats. They would have no choice but to put up with it, and they all despise him with a white-hot intensity. Can you imagine the reaction of Nancy Pelosi to seeing Trump swinging the speaker’s gavel?
And what about the State of the Union speech? Biden has at least one more left to do in his stolen presidency. Can you imagine what it would be like for him knowing Trump is sitting behind him in the speaker’s chair? And just what would Trump do during Biden’s speech? Does anyone think Trump would sit there quietly while Biden spewed his lies?
Don’t forget that Nancy Pelosi ripped up a copy of Trump’s speech on national television. Who knows what sort of hijinks Trump would use to get revenge for her doing that to him? Trump despises Biden (rightfully so; Biden stole the election, and he’s a pedophile) and I doubt he’d just sit there and listen politely.
Trump and the Senate
And how would Trump deal with McConnell in the Senate? The two hate each other but would be forced to deal with each other if Trump becomes speaker. Oh, to be a fly on the wall during their first meeting! McConnel, of course, is headed down the same road as Diane Feinstein, and Father Time will claim him sooner or later. But we might get a few laughs at them trying to feign politeness while utterly loathing each other.
I do not know Trump’s chances, but I’m rooting for him for the entertainment value alone. I can hardly think of a better opportunity in the short term to piss off the scum and filth who inhabit the imperial city than by foisting Trump on them in the role of speaker of the House.
Keep your fingers crossed, say a prayer, and let’s hope the show in the House happens.
YOU WILL BE ENTERTAINED! 😂

There's at least one other wonderful quirk you've overlooked my undead friend, and you touched upon it in your piece- the State of the Union Address. According to procedural regulations, the President must be invited into chambers to deliver it BY THE SPEAKER! I can see Trump saying "No go, Joe, go give your writers' lies a presentation from your fake Oval Office set." He is more than spiteful enough to do it, too.
Lol. It would be uproariously funny. But you know, he'd have more power as speaker of the house, than he did as president. He'd be able to force budgets through the house, he could make committee hearings a blast, and he'd piss off the dems.
That would be one way to get rid of those pesky court cases.
Imagine Biden asking for money for Ukraine and Trump going, "Nope, nope, nope, no money for the laundry."
