So I forced myself to sit through the debate, and before I get into it in more detail, here is my summary:
Geriatric A has ADHD, and Geriatric B has dementia.
Quick impressions:
Biden looked like death warmed over, and his voice matched how he looked.
Despite that, the drugs they gave him were enough to prop him up, barely.
Biden did not get the questions from CNN; his campaign wrote them and then gave them to CNN. Notice the notes he was consulting? It was amazing how they seemed to help him stay on track.
The moderators were far better behaved than I expected, especially from CNN.
Somebody needs to cut off Trump’s diet coke supply before the debate.
Trump was all over the place at times, and the ADHD/Diet Coke overload was obvious.
Trump needed to shut up about what he said in front of the generals; he brought it up two or three times, and nobody gives a crap about it.
The golf banter showed how out of touch both of them are with poor and working-class voters. When you can barely pay the rent or buy food, you don’t give a shit who can hit a golf ball. Why the hell was any time wasted on babble about a rich man’s sport? Hey, screw the poor and working class, let’s talk about golf!
Overall, Biden did surprisingly well in this debate. Oh sure, he looked like crap, as I noted above. But Trump did not destroy him in this debate, and Biden managed to mostly hold it together. That said, I see over on X that a lot of Democrats are in panic mode, and we might see more calls for Biden to step down. I cannot get into their heads, but I thought Biden did better than expected.
And if Biden were to bow out, who would they replace him with? Newsom is loathed and has a terrible persona for the national stage. Michelle Obama didn’t even want to be first lady and has no interest in becoming president. Is there another Democrat that anybody can name who would be a credible candidate? I cannot think of any off the top of my head.
Trump did well on the issue of illegal aliens, except for one glaring omission. Can you think of what it was? Come on, dear reader, what did Trump NOT say that he should have? Well, okay, I’ll tell you. Trump went on and on about how illegal aliens have taken “black jobs” and “hispanic jobs” but could not bring himself to say “White jobs.” I noticed it a couple of times.
So, as usual, poor and working class White people can go screw themselves. Biden didn’t say it either, but I didn’t expect him to since his base isn’t poor or working class Whites. Trump, on the other hand, owed it to his voters to name them.
This just fits in with Trump’s idiotic 2020 campaign, where those same poor and working class Whites were thrown under the bus in an attempt to get more black and hispanic votes. That campaign strategy didn’t end well for Trump, as some of those Whites stayed home while others defected to Biden.
Regarding the moderators, they were better behaved, as I said above, but I did notice at one point that they seemed to keep Biden’s microphone on to let him go at Trump while Trump was speaking. Maybe I’m misremembering it? Tell me in the comments if I’m off on it, but I could swear they did it.
All things considered, though, the moderators were not nearly as bad as I expected them to be, but since the Biden campaign likely wrote the questions for them, they had no real need to be overtly biased. Oh, you don’t actually believe that Biden didn’t know the questions in advance, did you? I initially thought CNN would pass them to him, but as I watched the debate, it seemed to me to be more like the other way around.
One thing that nobody brought up was the CIA and the rest of the neocon cabal in DC, who are pushing the world toward World War 3. Trump brought up WW3 a couple of times, but simply blamed it on Biden. While it might have been too much to get into in a minute or so, I would have liked the CIA and the neocons to be named directly to put it in front of the public.
Regarding the debate format, I think it worked surprisingly well. I liked that one could speak and the other could not. It at least gave the audience a chance to focus on what one candidate was saying without a screaming match occurring. But, as I noted above, it did seem like they let Biden’s microphone stay on at one point.
Still, this was the best debate format I’ve seen in a long time. I did not miss the stupid audience of partisan retards at all. Good riddance to them. If we must have these insipid debates, then let’s at least keep out the studio audience. They bring nothing of value to the table and just end up wasting time with idiotic clapping.
Anyway, those are my thoughts after sitting through it. I’m sure both sides are spinning like mad as I type this article, but let them spin. It’s about all you can expect from these people anyway. I doubt such spin will have any effect on voters whatsoever. I know I don’t give a crap about any of it, but then again, I never have.
If you skipped the debate, I don’t think you missed much, as far as either candidate goes. They more or less said what you’d expect them to say. If you decide to watch it later, make sure you have a video game, book, or other amusement close at hand to keep yourself from wasting such time on the babble from the two geriatrics.
What’s your take on the debate? Tell me in the comments.
