Amazon's damned delivery drones!
Amazon gets ready to fill the air with dangerous, privacy-destroying drones, and life will never be the same! What's next? Robots ringing your doorbell?
If you’ve been reading my substack from the beginning, then you know that I hate robots and drones. I cannot stand the damned things, and I don’t want them anywhere near me. They creep me out, and I do not want to see them flying or walking in any place that I happen to be. Nor do I want them to bring me packages!
Well, get ready because Amazon just got approval to fill the skies with delivery drones:
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved Amazon to expand its drone delivery program, with the company planning to “immediately” scale up operations.
The agency requires commercial drone operators to maintain a line of sight to their drones until it approves technology that can safely allow drones to fly longer distances, beyond the visual line of sight.
Amazon announced that its new “detect-and-avoid system” was approved by the federal regulators on Thursday.
“We’re excited to share that the FAA has given Prime Air additional permissions that allow us to operate our drones beyond visual line of sight, enabling us to now serve more customers via drone and effectively expand and scale our drone delivery operations,” company officials stated.
“To obtain this permission, we developed a BVLOS [beyond visual line of sight] strategy, including an onboard detect-and-avoid technology. We’ve spent years developing, testing, and refining our onboard detect-and-avoid system to ensure our drones can detect and avoid obstacles in the air,” Amazon said.
One of Amazon’s lead drone sites is in College Station, Texas, where they provide customers with their orders in less than an hour with “minimal complexity,” according to David Carbon, vice president of Prime Air.
First, you should be aware that these things will obviously have cameras. Who is viewing the video feeds? What are the cameras capturing as the drones fly around? Who does the video get shared with? Oh yes, frens, if you are doing anything on your property, it’s not going to be private anymore. Do you like nude sunbathing? Somebody at Amazon is going to see you lying by your pool without any clothing on. 😳
Second, how many delivery drivers will be out of jobs because of these damned things? There are a lot of people that earn a living in the delivery industry, and eventually most or all of those jobs are likely to be gone because of delivery drones. What exactly do people in the industry do to earn a living? Yes, I know, just get another job, but take a look at the country’s economy, and you should know that that is easier said than done.
Third, I don’t care what the hell Amazon says; somebody is going to get killed by these things. Eventually, they are going to drop a package on somebody’s head, or the drone itself will crash into a person and kill them. If you think I’m kidding or exaggerating, just wait and see. The first kill made by an Amazon drone will be all over social media soon enough. Maybe it will just be a customer’s dog, or maybe it will be the customer!
Here’s a drone delivery for you:
Amazon can kiss my ass; I will never accept a drone delivery. I hope some bored hunter blasts the damned things out of the sky with his shotgun! Or perhaps a hawk or eagle will see the drone and knock it out of the air and into the ground? Well, whichever way it is done is fine with me. As long as the drone is utterly destroyed. 🧐
Of course, this is just a harbinger of things to come. Get ready for Amazon Delivery Robots because you know they are working on them too. Maybe the robots will fly in the drones or something? Imagine having a robot ring your doorbell for one reason or another. Then again, what do they need robots for with these stupid drones? 🤔
Anyway, the time of the delivery drones is upon us, frens. Prepare yourselves to look out your windows and see tons of drones zipping around all over the place. Amazon might be one of the first companies to use them, but FedEx, UPS and the rest of them will follow in due time. We are going to be swamped with drones; they will be everywhere.
Amazon, as you can see if you visit the company’s drone site, is going all in with drones. So get ready, frens. One of these damned things is going to visit you very soon, whether you like it or not. 🤨
UPDATE: Ha, ha, somebody posted this in the comments of the Breitbart article. You just know that this is going to happen. Porch pirates will find a way to track the drones and steal the packages. 😂
