I think you hit the nail on the head. The parallels between the US and Soviet Union are quite clear: geriatric leadership class, overstretched military, economic stagnation, failure in Afghanistan, runaway debt, etc. I think people should start to consider what they are going to do when the US Empire falls here soon. There isn't much time left before the system collapses. And then what? There are going to be massive issues, even more so than now.
They are actually going to get Biden out of the basement and let him debate? This should be interesting. I'd like to see the moderator bring up crime and punishment as it applies to molesting your own daughter and addicting your son to drugs. Then I'd like to see them ask them about what should happen to people who work with Russia and China and then finish it up by asking about border defense.
I was not aware that when attending a circus one was expected to root for a particular clown. I guess I've been doing it wrong this whole time. Though it's been a very long time since I saw one in person in the classic style. I don't think they do them anymore. Maybe things changed when they moved to virtual performances?
I just want to see it as a clown show and also see what kind of meth/cocaine/etc. they put Biden on. Of course Jake Tapper and the CNN clowns will try to favor Biden. Trump might get in some good zingers. He is known for that.

I always find myself rooting against one of the two offerings and focusing on their downfall rather than anything Lever B has to offer.
The assumption behind the whole strategy is that Biden will drool all over himself at the debate and the whole charade will be exposed.
This was also the expectoration (sic and it stays!) set for the SOTU and the republicans let themselves lean into it and when Biden was able to shout through the whole thing they had been defeated by Lowered Expectations.
Biden did very well against Trump in 2020 both times and so you are relying on an accelerated rate of decline for Biden and I fear they can prop him up for longer than anticipated.
